We manufacture SEP grit separators designed for use in mechanical wastewater treatment and pre-treatment systems. The unit is used for the final separation of grit from the water-grit slurry supplied from a grit chamber. We manufacture and equip the separator according to the conditions of the specific installation and the way in which it is to operate with other process equipment. The grit separator can form part of a new wastewater treatment installation or be integrated into an existing process line during modernisation. We select the method of slurry feeding, removal of separated grit and equipment control according to the operating conditions of the wastewater treatment plant.
The SEP grit separator is used in wastewater treatment plants as a unit operating in conjunction with a vertical grit chamber. Its function is to separate grit from the water-grit slurry and prepare it for collection and further handling. The water-grit slurry is fed through the inlet connection into the separator tank, which acts as a washing and sedimentation chamber. The components of the mixture are separated inside the unit. Under the force of gravity, the grit settles at the bottom of the tank, while the liquid containing suspended fine organic particles is discharged through the outlet connection to the next stage of the installation. The grit accumulated at the bottom is removed by a screw conveyor and transported towards the discharge point. It can then be discharged directly into a container. During conveying and discharge, the grit also undergoes gravitational dewatering.

The SEP separator can operate as part of a larger process line incorporating equipment for preliminary mechanical wastewater treatment. Cooperating units can be connected to the separator control cabinet so that their operation is properly coordinated. This makes it possible to combine, within one system, processes such as screenings removal, grit separation, transport of retained contaminants and subsequent wastewater treatment stages. The separator can be used both in the construction of wastewater treatment plants and during the modernisation of existing installations.
As a manufacturer of equipment for wastewater treatment plants, we can adapt the separator to the installation conditions and the equipment with which it is to operate. We take into account the method of supplying the water-grit slurry, the location of the grit collection point, the screw conveying arrangement and the required control system. We can also prepare the unit as part of a larger mechanical wastewater pre-treatment installation, combining the separator with other process equipment manufactured and supplied by us.
We deliver the equipment to the project site and, depending on the agreed scope of work, carry out installation and commissioning. We can also train operators in the correct operation of the separator and the associated components of the installation. The scope of supply and equipment is agreed individually with the customer, allowing the SEP grit separator to be prepared either as a stand-alone unit or as part of a complete wastewater treatment process line.
