SCREW CONVEYORS FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT AND INDUSTRIAL MATERIAL HANDLING

We manufacture PS screw conveyors designed for the process conveying of bulk, fine- and medium-grained materials with a dry or wet consistency. We offer PS-150, PS-200, PS-250 and PS-300 versions, selected according to the required capacity and operating conditions of the installation.

We manufacture the trough and cover from OH18N9 acid-resistant stainless steel and line the trough with a wear-resistant polymer material. The screw flight is made of carbon structural steel. The dimensions and number of feed hoppers, as well as their mounting method, are selected individually according to local conditions and customer requirements, including when the conveyor forms part of equipment supplied for wastewater treatment plants.

 

PS screw conveyor

 

The screw conveyor transports material from the feed opening to the discharge opening by means of a rotating screw flight. The material enters the conveyor trough and is then moved inside the housing towards the discharge point.

The unit can be controlled manually or automatically, allowing the conveyor to operate together with other conveying and receiving equipment. We use PS conveyors, among other applications, in sludge hygienisation systems and in systems receiving material from separation equipment. At the customer’s request, the discharge section can be equipped with a drainage taper ending in a discharge chute, used to compact the conveyed material.

 

Construction of the screw conveyor

 

The unit consists of the main working and structural components responsible for feeding, conveying and discharging the material:

  • feed opening – for introducing material into the conveyor,
  • cover – enclosing the working trough,
  • trough – forming the housing of the working section,
  • screw flight – conveying the material along the conveyor,
  • discharge opening – for discharging the conveyed material,
  • geared motor – driving the screw mechanism.

Design adapted to the installation

 

We cover the working trough of the screw conveyor with a cover incorporating feed openings, discharge openings and mounting components. The dimensions and number of feed hoppers, as well as their mounting method – including supports and suspension points – are selected according to local conditions and user requirements.

Each PS screw conveyor can be adapted to the specific method of material feeding and discharge and to the installation conditions. In equipment such as a grit separator, the conveyor can be used to collect and transport separated material, while in other systems it can operate as an independent conveying unit. We select the design according to the actual installation conditions and the characteristics of the material being conveyed.
