SLUDGE HYGIENISATION UNIT FOR SMALL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTSWe offer sludge hygienisation units designed primarily for small wastewater treatment plants where daily lime consumption does not exceed approximately 200 kg, equivalent to 7–8 bags. The unit enables hygienisation of dewatered sludge by mixing it with lime or another appropriately selected hygienising agent.
The hygienisation unit is suitable for facilities where there is no need to install an extensive system with a large silo and a complete component storage system. The dosage of the hygienising agent is selected according to the type of sludge and the required treatment effect.
The sludge hygienisation unit is designed to mix sludge with lime or another hygienising agent in specified proportions. The purpose of the process is to reduce the presence of parasites and pathogenic microorganisms and to improve the properties of the sludge before further handling or utilisation.
Sludge liming enables simultaneous stabilisation and hygienisation. The amount of agent added is not fixed and should be selected according to the properties of the specific sludge and the required degree of hygienisation.
The unit is recommended primarily for small wastewater treatment plants where daily lime demand does not exceed approximately 200 kg. At this level of consumption, lime supplied in bags can be used without the need to construct a large storage silo.
This solution simplifies the process system and allows the sludge hygienisation method to be adapted to the actual scale of the facility.
The dosage of lime or another hygienising agent is selected individually. Factors taken into account include the type of sludge and the required degree of hygienisation.
Correct dosing is essential for proper process operation. Both insufficient dosing and unnecessarily high consumption of the agent may adversely affect the operating economics of the installation.
The hygienisation unit is intended primarily for smaller facilities with relatively low consumption of the hygienising agent. In larger wastewater treatment plants where lime consumption is significantly higher, it may be more appropriate to use an extended system comprising a silo, dosing unit, screw conveyors and a sludge mixer.
For such applications, we also supply complete sludge hygienisation systems designed for higher capacities and automatic operation with a sludge dewatering station.
We select the solution according to the amount of sludge produced, daily consumption of the hygienising agent and the organisation of the process within the wastewater treatment plant. This allows us to offer either a simpler hygienisation unit for a small facility or a complete installation for plants requiring automatic storage, dosing and conveying of lime.
