POLYELECTROLYTE PREPARATION AND DOSING STATION FOR SLUDGE DEWATERING

We manufacture polyelectrolyte preparation and dosing stations with tanks of 600 or 1000 litres and dosing pumps with capacities of 125, 200 and 300 l/h. The tank is manufactured from HDPE (PE-HD) or acid-resistant stainless steel, while components in contact with the medium, including the agitator and the dosing pump suction pipe, are made of AISI 304 stainless steel.

We select the station individually according to the parameters of the installation. The dosing pump provides continuous flow adjustment within the range of 10 to 100%, while the prepared polyelectrolyte solution has a concentration of 0.1–0.3%. The amount of solution injected into the pipeline is selected according to the sludge pump capacity and should correspond to 7–12% of its capacity.

Polyelectrolyte preparation and dosing station

We manufacture polyelectrolyte preparation stations as complete units for the preparation, mixing and controlled dosing of polymer solution. The equipment can operate, among other applications, with sludge dewatering installations where repeatable preparation of the required polymer concentration and precise dosing into the process pipeline are essential.

We adapt the design and operating parameters of the station to the quantity and type of medium and to the requirements of the specific installation. We offer electrically driven versions as well as the option of a pneumatically driven system.

Construction of the polyelectrolyte preparation station

We manufacture the station tank from HDPE (PE-HD) or acid-resistant stainless steel and mount it on a dedicated platform. Depending on the version, the station can be equipped with:

  • polyelectrolyte tank with level monitoring, inspection cover and bottom drain valve,
  • upper reinforcing plate made of AISI 304 stainless steel,
  • four-blade agitator made of AISI 304 stainless steel,
  • dosing pump suction pipe made of AISI 304 stainless steel,
  • dosing pump with adjustable capacity,
  • eductor for introducing polyelectrolyte into the water stream,
  • eductor valve and tank filling valve,
  • liquid level probes for monitoring tank filling,
  • solenoid valve,
  • pump suction connection and a system for delivering the prepared solution into the pipeline.

In the pneumatically driven version, the system also includes a pressure reducer, air regulator and compressor. These pneumatic components are not used in the version with an electrically driven dosing pump.

How does the polyelectrolyte preparation station work?

A measured quantity of powdered polyelectrolyte is added to the eductor hopper. The water stream used to fill the tank draws the polymer into the system and introduces it into the make-up tank, where the solution is mixed and allowed to mature.

The liquid level is monitored by probes. When the maximum level Vmax is reached, the water supply is automatically shut off. Once the solution preparation process has been completed, the station is ready for dosing.

Starting the filtration process activates the dosing pump, which injects a specified quantity of polyelectrolyte solution into the pipeline. We adjust the dosage according to the process parameters and the capacity of the sludge pump.

Dosing pump and flow adjustment

We use plunger dosing pumps that allow manual, continuous flow adjustment within the range of 10 to 100%. The flow rate can be adjusted both while the pump is operating and when it is stopped.

In stations with an electrically driven dosing pump, a powdered polymer dosing unit or an emulsion concentrate pump can be used. We select the solution according to the type of polyelectrolyte used and the technological requirements of the installation.

Stations designed for a specific installation

We select the technical parameters and size of the station individually according to the quantity and type of medium supplied. We design the equipment to meet the requirements of the specific process, allowing us to adapt, among other parameters, the tank capacity, pump capacity, solution preparation method and drive configuration.
