TERTIARY SCREEN

We manufacture tertiary screens – rotary drum microscreens designed for final wastewater polishing and the removal of very fine contaminants. The unit can be selected as part of comprehensive wastewater treatment plant equipment. The main working element is a rotating drum covered with a fine microscreen mesh providing high water permeability. The standard mesh opening ranges from 5 to 40 µm, with the mesh size selected according to the required effluent parameters and wastewater characteristics.

Wastewater is fed into the drum and then passes through the filtering surface into the collection chamber. Contaminants are retained on the microscreen, while the section of the drum in the upper position is automatically cleaned by a water jet directed from the outside. The resulting wash water is collected from inside the drum and discharged to the sewer system.

The drum is driven by an electric motor at a speed of several revolutions per minute. The unit operates as a hermetically sealed, automatic system, ensuring continuous filtration and regular cleaning of the filtering surface. The standard unit has a power rating of 3 kW.

The tertiary screen can be installed downstream of earlier treatment stages, for example after a secondary clarifier, as a final stage for reducing suspended solids and organic contaminants in the effluent. In process lines incorporating biological trickling filters with a rotary sprinkler, the microscreen can be used as a separate final polishing stage where required by the selected treatment technology. With a BOD5 concentration of approximately 20 mg/L at the screen inlet, an effluent concentration of approximately 5 mg/L BOD5 can be achieved.

Depending on the process requirements, we can select the mesh opening size and use a filtering surface material other than plastic.
