The KK grate hopper is designed for mechanical sewage treatment. It protects the pumps in sewage pumping stations of communal and industrial sewage treatment plants. The grate hopper is used for initial mechanical filtering of large solid contaminants that may damage the pump rotors. The grate hopper is installed in wells, where the sewage is delivered by pipes. There should be a 700 x 800 mm access hole for retraction of the hopper, while the sewage feed pipe should protrude from the wall by 90 mm.
The gap between the grate bars can be within the range 40 to 70 mm (as desired). All the grate elements (hopper, chain, and steel wire) except for the guides and the hand-operated pole davit are made of acid-resistant steel.
